I have a 1994 GMC K-1500, 350 CI with the older style 4L60E (half bell houseing) and an NP-241 C transfere case. I just purchased a 4L60E (full bell houseing) out of a 1998 Chevy Blazer. I want to use this tranny in my 94 GMC. Will it work and what do I need to change? I did notice that the Transfere case has a six bolt pattern on it and the adapter on the Tranny has a 5 bolt pattern. All else pretty much looks the same.

Found the solution. I just need to get the adapter from a 97-98 4L60E to NP-241 for fullsize truck. Can get from salvage yard or GM part # 15005474, $50.00 new.

I also found out that 4L60E trannies are wired for specific applications. One tranny from a Sierra K1500, 350CI 4x4 will be wired different from a same year model 2Wheel Drive. The biggest difference in a 1998 4L60E and a 1994 other than the obvious is how it is wired. If I am wrong correct me but this is what I am getting.
