Get this my jeep will not fire unless the head lights are on. I guess its a good security system though. I replaced the ignition switch and nothing I guess there is a wire crossed somewhere maybee in the colum any ideas? I hate electrical. It ran fine just all of a sudden wouldnt start I just got lucky that I tried with the lights on. Its been this way for a while now but now I have another issue I think maybe related. I put new seats in yesterday and went to go for a test drive as soon as I gave it some gas it died. I have checked all the basics, but it is not dying every time it is inconsistent. as I give it throttle it will act as though it is not getting enough spark but it does catch back up and start running again or it dies, but it is not every time I give it throttle. Who ever had this jeep before me has done some work to the harness so it is hard to look at. could I bypass the ignition and start over with a toggle switch and push buttton start? I am stumped any ideas?

Check all of your grounds again. If it started happening suddenly and nothing else has changed then I would bet a ground wire has worked its self loose.

It was a little cold outside this morning cranked the jeep up and it ran fine until the motor warmed. I changed the coil and its running fine again. The coil seemed fine yesterday but i guess not.

Did that fix the headlight problem too?

it is a ground issue somewhere, and your system is grounding through your headlights which will cause major electrical system strain and also make the jeep run poorly
if it ain't dirty, you ain't doing it rite, RNC club motto
