I am currently building a high pinion Dana 60 for the front of my 98 Ram 1500. I have decided that this will be the best way to get away from the center disconnect assembly. I have noticed that I have the choice of ball joint knuckles or king-pin knuckles. I am wondering which is actually stronger and which will last in all types of soils. I run in sand, heavy clay mud, peat moss, sloughs, and lots of loose dirt. I chose the 60 over the 44 because i have approx 4000lbs of weight sitting on the axle. Any info for which is the best choice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It all depends on all of the setup. Your best bet is call up a custom axle maker, most of them will do tech support. Tell them what you got and they can tell you what you need.
