I want to do an SAS on an 86 Toyota truck I have and thinking of also a 2000 tocoma. Should I use a Toyota front axle or a full width axle? Is there an advantage to using ether one of them? Do I need spacers for the Toyota axle? And if so why? Please help with this a bit confused!!

A 79-85 Toyota front axle would be simplest. There are many SAS kits available based on that axle. You can use 1.5" spacers to make it as wide as the 86's rear axle.

A Dana 44 from an old full size Jeep is the most common axle used for a Taco SAS.
