My battery fell into the fan does anyone know an easy fix to remove the acid. After this happened I soaked it down with water real good and scrubed it down with baking soda but it's rusting in several areas. Any ideas? i already put an Optima init as well as a better battery hold down to prevent future disasters. would POR 15 neutralize it, and prevent it from destroying my engine compartment?

i think the best thing you can do is pray lol try putting the fan in a tub of cat litter to absorb any acid particles on the fan even then idk good luck

Hi, I cracked mine one day with a crow bar tightening the alternator. It slipped! I used strand fiberglass and resin to patch the hole. I did'nt loose any acid though so you might have to top it up or fill.

You patched a battery with fiberglass and resin? Wow, never heard that one before.

Me either and I can usually bandaid anything together. It doesn't help when the battery gets disintegrated in the fan, NAPA barely took it for a core. Nothing but Optimas for me now and permenent battery hold downs help too.
