Sounds like you need to fab up a security camera. I had some one stealing my gas. A couple of gallons here and there. Then they broke the little metal flap off which verified my hunch. Plus they poisoned my dog. Damn near killed the dog. I waiting for them too. Good luck on the parts.

Try a dmv search for registered owners of fj's that will fit your stolen parts. usually motor vehicle or county courts will give you vehicle addresses for a small fee. check out local and regional for people who own a fj that your stuff will fit on. keep an eye on craigslist, but dont post a "stolen" add, maybe post a wanted add and play dumb, like "looking for parts to restore my fj 40" or something. check fj forums and local papers and junkyards. a junkyard wont usually buy parts, but they might help you by being aware of the parts that were stolen. try adding a reward to your search, friends of criminals are easily turned. good luck finding parts/bad guys.

I had a gas theif when i lived in apts in phx, I always kept 2 gallons in my bed b/c my fuel gauge didnt work. anyway, after noticing an empty can twice, and then the can went missing, I decided to buy a new can....... and fill it with sugar water and a little gas for the smell funny how the day after my new can went missing, a buick around the corner suddenly quit running.

I was out in Stockton, Ca and had some gas stolen out of our wj jeep. I didn't even know until the check engine came on. They threw my gas cap out in the hwy and it got ran over. Back here in MI someone took my rear wiper arm and put there p.o.s. on my jeep. I had just changed the rear wiper blade a week before that.

yeah dam thieves i was going to get some 5 tires 38 claws on 15 in rims from a local junkyard guy and when i went they were gone he told me someone broke in with their rig into his shop and broke the gate to take em.. the guy went to red sands the local dunes  and found a guy with his rims and tires on his jeep chased him down and then smashed his truck into the thieves jeep got off with his shot gun took his tires and rims back and left him there with nothing but axles on dirt. and now i gotta help him fix the gate and his front winch bumper for half off on the tires.. so lesson to be learned carry your gun when hunting for thieves i guess.or dont be f-ing stealing s###it  and good job on the sugar gas tank!!
