If you want an American-made classic that looks and runs great, this is the Scout for you. If you don't want to be talked to, honked at, flashed, or stared at, maybe its not.

It was born on Halloween of 1977 in Chicago. This low-mileage,considering the year and only a little over 4,000 since restore and overhaul, always garaged, well maintained Scout II is a conversation starter and head turner no matter where you take it. Everybody's got a Scout story or memory to share with you. You could use it for weekends, summertime, or even a dependable daily driver.

It is powered by the original, cured in Lake Michigan, International 345ci V8 that has been completely overhauled. It has a new over-sized crank with new rods and pistons. I have used synthetics only.

This was a California vehicle before I purchased it in 2005. I worked on restoring this beauty from 6:00 - 12:00, 4 nights a week for 6 months. I have removed and replaced almost every single screw. Since I have owned it, it has had all scheduled maintenance.

It is sitting on newer BF Goodrich(80%) Radial Mud Terrains mounted on gloss black 15x8 Rock Crawler wheels with new lugs.

It has not been smoked in, taken out in the snow, taken off-road, or in the mud since the restore. It has barely seen rain. It has new paint with a clear coat that you could use as a mirror to shave with.

I will be a sad day the day this Scout sells. I'm only getting rid of it because my wife says it is not family-oriented and thinks I need to get something a little more suitable for our two little girls to ride in when they're not with her in her Murano. She's probably right, but I hope I do not regret letting this one go, and hope it goes to someone who is going to take as good of care of it as I have. I would of liked to have passed it on to children later on, but its just not reasonable right now. 3"-4" Superlift lift in good condition with newer bushings and shocks. May remove and spray springs before sale. May remove and clean shocks and replace boots before sale.

Transmission: Shifts smooth with no hang-ups or grinding. Fluid was recently replaced.

Engine: Original Int’l 345 V8 with recent complete overhaul with new crank, pistons, heads, and rings. Line-bored. Bored over. Runs strong and idles smooth. Fresh coat of heat resistant paint. Starts right up. No smoke. K&N air filter.

Body had complete restore in 2005. Garaged. Straight. Added chrome, custom bumper, tire gate with new BestTop top, Bushwacker fender flares, decals and diamondplate. Inside and underneath Rhino-lined.

Paint is in excellent condition. There are minor chips on front bumper and one on rear tailgate. Front end, tailgate, door jams, and door panels are two-tone. Fender flares/under hood painted to match

Here's a list of some of what went into the truck:

There is too much to list and I'm sure I've left tons off.

I have many extra parts, not that you'll ever need them. As previously mentioned, I'm only trying to sale this for family reasons and will be sad to see it go, but glad that it will make someone else who can take care of it happy.
