I am in the processes of building a mud truck and was wondering what people who have had more experience on which would be better for mudding. Diesel or A big block?

A big block, it allows you to rev to a higher rmp which in turn lets you spin the wheel and sling the mud.

I would have to disagree with eric diesels are injected so off camber is no problem and they put out so much torque and power. What they lack in redline they make up with neck snapping power if tuned properly. Not to mention smoke stacks are pretty sweet.

And a big block isn't injected? Plus the diesel is gonna weigh a few HUNDRED pounds more. But on the plus side diesels do have far lesser amounts of electronic devices and can run completely underwater as long as you got a snorkel.

But to each his own, right?
