I've slowly been building up a 77 club cab 4x4, but it was in real bad shape. I have been gathering parts for some time.
I changed out the front axle with a chevy 1/2 ton. I had it available with an air locker and 4:10s, so I then built up a rear axle to match with a detroit locker in it. But the Part time converter for the 203 keeps giving me fits. SO I went out and bought a 73' 1/2 ton and planned on taking the 4 speed and np205 out, but once i got it I started thinking that I should just put the axles from the 73 under the 77 and then sell the chevy axles. But once I got the 73s axles apart they aren't in great shape, and they have open diffs, 3:55s, and Drum brakes. Now I'm not sure what to ***
Do I put the dodge parts back under the dodge. Then do a disc conversion and redo the gears, or just leave the Chevy axles?

The 205 case is awesome. and the 4 speed has a 6.something granny low gear which is nice. but have you considered a t-case doubler?? and leave your chevy axles. Discs and a locker are way cool. If you are going to waste a pile of cash converting and patching just invest in a complete axle housing that you need. dana 60 front would be nice..

I agree with dodgebeater. I've run 465/205 combos & I love them! you have the 203 and 205? Heck yeah-spend the cash if you have it and put together a doubler! You may smoke them little axles but you'll have fun doin' it. Will the tranny bolt up to whatever engine you plan to run (unstated)? Can you just modify some GM driveshafts for length and bolt 'em up?
