Lift Laws HELP!!!

OK pleas read everything before you respond.

I want to put Hobbyist plates on my rig. DOT says it allows the modification of my rig from factory. The standard allowed lift hight is 4 inchs w/ up to 9 inchs for the bumper to be moved.

I can't find what the hobbyist plate allows for lift. I live in Norther,WI.

Now, normally I would just ask a helpful State Trooper...but the one in my area is (excuse the language) a total *** dick. He harasses people with loud and lifted trucks, while he himself owns a camaro with dual loud exhaust. He is not helpful and he lies. He informed me that Hobbyist plate don't allow you to do anything differnt than normal plates. They just say you are a hobbyist.

I know for a fact that they allow modifications to your vehicle, because i went to the dmv and they gave me the hobbyist booklet. BUT it only gave the requirements to get the plates, but not the rules for the plates.

He also informed me that Fender Flares that don't come factory are not allowed on the vehicle to cover wider tires. He said " Even if you have them and they cover your tires, I will still measure from the factory fender." I found in the dmv website for wisconsin that says "Two inches, but that protrusion must be covered by fender extension."

He also complained that my bumpers were "too strong, and not safe due to there size" WTF is he smoking? too strong of bumpers? c'mon thats bs.

SO...I just want to know if anyone can help me find what my max tire size is allowed on the road, and the maximum lift allowed. I don't know what my current lift is either. So how would I figure out what my vehicle height was and what my lift size is. It has a body lift and a susp lift.

I would also like to add that the cab was switched with an 84 C10 BEFORE i purchased it. SO..the only thing i know about the model of the truck is that its a 1978 Custom Delux K30. So I do not know the original vin#

Overall Height 74.80inches.....thats what I found for the factory height of a 78 k30. so...i'm assuming that goes from the roof of the truck to the ground?

Dude, I dont know about your laws or anything else but this... that cop is full of *** You can put a 6in flare on your truck, let him write you the ticket, go to court and watch his face as the judge throws it out. You just plede not guilty if it even comes to that. Ask a state trooper, dont ask any local town/city cops, there all ***
