Hello, Im working on rebuilding my engine. It's a 5.0L 302. It's out of a 1980 Ford F250. My biggest problems I've run into, are deciding on the proper lifters/cams and pistons/rings sizes. Im am good at the physical part of the teardown, and rebuilding of the engine, but am almost completely stumped on the small details such as the int/ext of the lifters and cams, and what size to get on piston and rings.
Im looking to get a bit more torque and power out of the engine, but am unsure on what all I need to do this. I'm completely rebuilding the engine, and would appreciate and advice anyone could give on the lifters/cam sizes, as well as the size of pistons and rings, and how much I would need to get the bloack bored to make it fit.
Thanks, NeverFinished

not sure what your budget is. but if u can, get a roller cam set up, with anywhere from 260-290 lift duration. As for the piston ring sizes as long as your keeping the stock pistions u should be able to get OE replacement rings. but once again depending on your budget u can look into getting the block bored over, 30 over is a good bore without much worries and u can get a nice rotating assembly complete with .030 over pistons and rings. Summit can and will be your best friend in this rebuild

Thank you!
Would it be best to keep the intake and exhaust duration the same? Or should I have the intake less than that of the exhaust?
