The 2012 Ultimate Adventure is just around the corner and this year is going to be a year of first in many ways. While we can't divulge too many secrets, what we can tell you is that this year's trip will be the most technology enriched.

We'll be updating this thread in the coming weeks and.....wait for it...posting actual updates from the UA itself. We're inviting UA participants as well to add photos and commentary about the trip, both before, during, and after the adventure.

Have a question about a truck? Want to know what broke? This will be the place to check.

Ok. Enough typing. Who's ready for UA?

Cool...Just got some info from General Pewe for the 2012 UA.
Can't wait to see some old friends and meets some new friends. Looks like a good group of readers and rigs will be on the trip.

This will truly be an epic year!!! This forum is a great turning point for the UA as well as a new bar in the industry!! For the first time readers  all aroind the world can get first hand accounts of the incredible journey as the participants see it from thier POV. On a side note the coverage will increase dramatically as dozens of more camera angles can be brought to viewing (no offense to the photographers but we all know you cant be everywhere at once) indeed the most "technolgy enriched" UA ever!! Looking forward to another great trip with some of the worlds best.

Lots of hours left on the rig to be ready, but we will head out in full force, sans trailer, when the time comes!

Gonna be a good year.  If any of you are like me, I'm like a kid on Christmas morning.  Except, by Christmas morning I've shook all the gifts and know what I'm getting.  I hope all of you are as nuts as myself and my co-driver Joe. Before this is all said and done, there will be sweat, tears (for you cryers), and possibly some blood.  For some reason a little blood is lost repairing all the broken jeeps.  As for me, I will be piloting the blue taco.  We will see you all at the top or catch you as we roll down.  Godspeed to all.

Glad to see everyone is looking forward to it.

Quick question for all UA Participants.

Do you guys know how much your rig weighs? If so, post up a number. There may even be a prize for the heaviest and lightest rig....

(Prize subject to availability. Actually be a prize may be a surprise, but not an actual prize, therein voiding all chances of a prize. If a prize does become available, and no one on staff likes it, then we may give it away. Void on all plants besides Earth.)

Last weight I got on the TrailBlazer was coming back from hunting last fall. 6250lbs.  But I have added more tube and spare parts, so we will see.  How about weight per cylinders? Either way, Im right in there with the heavy JKs!

My tacoma is right there close with the trailblazer.  I lost some weight initially, but then added alot more in armor, axles, and tires.  Will put on the scales hopefully next week after we roll it out of the paintbooth.

I'm loving the enthusiasm, but we're not quite there yet.  I figure every one of us are in full out prep mode awaiting that day we leave for cuba.
