The metal brake line running along the frame rail of my '99 Dakota has rusted out. This is the first time I've ever seen one of these lines rust out and I am looking to replace it myself if possible. Does anyone know if I can do this? If I can get prebent line and do it or should I take it somewhere. I don't have any fancy tools or any lift.

you can buy tubing and unions. You can get a cheap pair of tubing benders off of the help rack at Napa. Some auto part stores rent the tools too. Just cut out the bad part of tubing and use unions to put the new piece in. tightened properly, the unions will hold just fine. Of course you will have to have tubing cutters too.
