On my 1992 ford f150 xlt 4x4, I wana ditch my IFS. My buddy has a chevy axle thats perfect because the pumpkin is on the driver side. Most people I see that swap out there ifs use leaf springs, I like the concept because its cheeper to lift but I was wondering how much less work it would be to do coils with the solid axle instead of a leaf.  I watched a buddy of mine convert a 2wd suburban into a 4wd with a solid axle but he used leafs and there was alot of cutting. My question is is it easier, cost effective, and strong enough to be put through some medium to heavy abuse?
