I have a '90 Wrangler with a 258ci. I have a Weber 34/36 DGEC installed on it about a year ago. I has be running great til about 2 months ago I started hearing a whistle, I open the hood and could hear it coming from the carb. I looked for loose hoses, vacuum line and found none. This whistle is happening at idle and while driving, but it is not happing all the time. I just did a rebuild kit on the carb and I still have the whistle. There are no lose hoses or lines. Any ideas??

Sounds like the carb gasket. Replace the gasket under the carb to intake and torque it to spec.

You most certainly have a vacuum leak. Start up the motor and spray around the intake and the carb and when the idle jumps up you will find the leak. I have an 89 yj 4.2 carb with the weber, I have the same issue and I found I need to replace the intake manifold gasket and the carb baseplate gaskets are leaking.

Check to see if it is coming from the PCV.
