my 81 blazer

sorry guys... kinda big... anyways 81 k5 blazer, 350 crate engine,th350,np208,10 bolt w/4.10 gears, truetrac dif, axle truss,12 bolt rear w/4.10 gears, gov locker,33" bfg m/ts, warn hubs,factory roll bar, 4" procomp lift, fabtech desert guard, 100w kc lights,holley truck avenger carb(670cfm), gutted interior,flowmaster 40 series muffler, optima battery, cheap driving lights for aux back up lights  

wow ...... didn't realize ho long it has been since I was on here last..... my blazer doesn't even look like the above pics anymore...... it was totaled on jan 9, 2009 when I was cut off by another car and was rear ended by a honda civic... the person didn't have a licence or insurance....was covered under uninsured motorist coverage... the blazer was totaled and I bought it back and got some cash to rebuild it



 

most of the damage was suspension damage..... I installed some junkyard rear springs and a used shackle flip I got for $75


I also got a ORD steering box brace from the same guy for $75.... also had to replace the drag link, ball joints, steering box and 1  tie rod end .... picked up a rear bumper and a front marker light from  a junkyard and pounded out the body damage  

also welded a few more light tabs on the light bar and put on 2 more offroad lights  

then I gutted and herculined the interior



then through some horse trading I got some better seats and blue interior .... I hated the factory saddle interior color , plus it was pretty trashed


 

could never get the 1/4 panel to look right so I decided to cut the fenders


then I found this bumper on a local 4x4 forum... the guy had parted out his blazer and this was all that was left... he let me have it for $50 to get it out of his garage
 

for turn signals I picked up these LED lights on clearance at walmart

 

got it mounted up and painted.....


I had got this to make a bumper with a swing out tire carrier, but the bumper was in worse shape than I thought


I was  not working so I didnt have any money to make the bumper I had planned..... so I cut it down to a center section

still need a tag light and some mudflaps.... gonna add to the bumper when I get working again.... also did a few other projects with stuff I had laying around.... made a console from 2 50cal ammo cans


also use a 7.62 can for my first aid kit
